Obrigado por todo – we had a magnificent week at Casa Sao Cristovao! The only problem is that one week is not enough time. We hope we have the pleasure of meeting again.

The villa was lovely as was the setting. Our whole family enjoyed the
stay there with the only criticism being the fireworks. They lasted for
five days and went off at all times of the day, sometimes every 15
minutes and late into the night which when you have a small baby to get
to sleep can be a problem. I think when the festival is on it would be
good just to let future visitors know. They can then be prepared.
The staff were excellent and despite the sleepless nights we would
certainly think about coming back although avoiding the festival !!
Thank you for ensuring the house and pool etc were of such a good quality.

We have stayed in casa da infanta end of july for 2 weeks and have loved it. THE villa is great, very spacious and just lovely. THE view is out of this world. We had à wonderful vacation with three families staying. Thanks to à great staff that we could enjoy each day.

This has been an excellent place to stay. We have all enjoyed the spaciousness and comfort. We’ve had a great time playing in the pool and reading in the garden. Thank you for your warm welcome!
Stayed in Quinta do Ladario.
We had a great week at Quinta de Nabais – oranges, peaches, and lemons abounded, and the hydrangeas all over Portugal and at the house were in lovely bloom. Francisco kept the grounds looking lovely and was helpful in many other ways. Our group of 10 enjoyed the pool, the pool table, and spent many happy hours eating and drinking at the outside kitchen.

We had a fantastic visit at Casa Roma! The villa is perfectly located for day trips to Villa Praia Ancora, Ponte Lima, Valenca, and Viana Do Castelo. Also loved exploring the small villages and waterfalls around Roma. The owner is a wonderful host, taking time to guide us through a hike in the area, inviting us for a drink, and welcoming us with a nice assortment of food and wine. The pool was also a great hit. Thank you for everything.

Villa Mafalda in Mindalo is a truly wonderful place for families and large groups. It is very well equipped, with a nice pool, games room, large garden and lots of excellent childrens’ toys. It is also very quiet, being at the end of a cul-de-sac with woods around, yet only five minutes walk to the shops and 10 to the beach. We really enjoyed our stay, and thank Portugal Villas and the owner for such a great villa.

We would like to thank the owner for the opportunity to stay at
his wonderful village! We really enjoyed the comfortable house and
garden. We are still inspired by land, people, very good wine and food
of Portugal. Your country is most surely the place to recommend to our
friend and families to visit. Moreover, we will back as soon as possible!

The villa is lovely. Even better than the understated pictures lead you to believe. Very well equipt, clean and comfortable with personal touches. We particularly were taken with the beautiful garden and all its hidden secrets, perfectly maintained but not overly manicured. The pool is a bit small for ‘real’ swimmers but suited us and our children’s splashing around perfectly.
Location is great and we felt the villa’s views from the balcony and windows a treat. Close to small shops and cafes / bars and just a few minutes walk to the river and a short drive to the beach or the estuary at Esposende.
Eating out was surprisingly inexpensive.
I have recommended the villa to friends already…

This was our first visit to this area of Portugal and it combined very neatly with a couple of days in Oporto at the end. The description on the website of the surrounding area is very accurate – if you have a car, you have access to the motorway and lots of very scenic towns and villages, as well as the local beaches.
The property itself was much bigger than we expected – it easily accommodated two couples and a teenager and we all had ample space. It was kept immaculately clean and was very well stocked with kitchen implements etc, which was appreciated. The gardens were a highlight and we had fresh peaches from the garden picked for our arrival – which was a lovely touch. The caretaker/cleaner for the property made us really welcome, and told us about the local festivities which were due to take place during our stay including religious processions, shows and fireworks – a real bonus!
We could have spent most of our holiday by the pool just doing nothing! The area is very rural and peaceful and I went running on the little farm tracks that criss-cross the countryside around – getting a smile and hello from the tractor drivers!
I would throughly recommend this property to anyone wanting a quiet base in which to relax and from which to explore the surrounding area. It is especially good for a large group of friends or a large family.

Our group spent a week at Quinta da Varzea de Cima at the end of August.
The villa itself is truly amazing – words cannot do it justice. The owner and family were also incredible; friendly and so accommodating. Nothing seemed too much trouble and even our non-existent Portuguese language skills did not cause too much of a problem.
The villa is huge and well equipped. We were able choose to eat in a dining room appropriate to our “mood”.
The pool area is also superb – with separate changing facilities that would rival some leisure centres!
The villa was easy to reach from Porto airport (approximately 75 minutes) and the closest town was around 5 kilometres away with good supermarket (Intermarche). A car (or taxi) would be required given the hilly nature of the area.
I have only good things to say of the whole experience with Portugal Villas and the property and owners. I would most definitely recommend their thorough and professional services.

We had a wonderful stay in the house. We all just loved it and had a great time exploring the region. The house is so comfortable and the spirit of hospitality was everywhere! We especially appreciated the kindness and beautiful spirit of the caretaker! She kept the place spotless and it was great to have her come in daily and clean up a bit. We rented 3 other properties in Europe this summer and this property provided the best service. We had a toddler and she loved running around the garden. It was lovely to be near the beach but not right on the busy tourist strand and it was so close to so many other beautiful towns.
We highly recommend this house and hope to return sometime soon.

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday with our family of 14 including all our children and grandchildren. We took both Casa Roma and Upper Roma for three weeks during August 2010.
The location is more or less perfect, extremely quiet, close to the Atlantic coast and swimming in the sea and with a river more or less running right through the property with rock pools for swimming and waterfalls for viewing. You are also close to Spain and fabulous fish restaurants in A Guarda, a 25 minute excursion. Trips to Porto, and other equally appealing villages and towns are all readily accessible. Walks in the National Park are short distances away.
The two farmhouses are just the right level of sophistication for a large and varied family. Older members can find quiet places to read while the younger ones can use the outdoors with pool and make whatever noise they want without disturbing the neighbours. The houses are well-enough equipped although you may find that the top to the pan you want to use will be found in the other house.
The owner was more than helpful with suggestions and support for our local tours and midweek arranged a wonderful lunch for all 14 of us with a roast kid as the “piece de resistance”.
Stayed in Casa Roma and Upper Roma
We had a really lovely stay at Casa do Sino. The setting of the house is
ideal and the pool was absolutely great.
It was nice that the village of Apulia was within walking distance.
Everything went really smoothly. Thank you for your kind assistance.

We spent 2 weeks at Casa de Alem in Ferreira, about 4 km from Paredes de Coura. It’s a very charming place, flowered and very quite. The house is big enough for 12 peoples, and we enjoyed the pool everyday !!
The only bad thing is the small fridge, very very small when we are 12 in the house.
We visited some town around our location and we went to 2 very beautiful places : Bom Jesus, near Braga, and Ponte de Lima.
Stayed in Casa de Alem
We stayed at Quinta da Varzea de Cima in August. It is a superb property which the website pictures don’t do justice to. There is tons of space, all the rooms and kitchens are well equipped and outside is spacious and very private. The changing rooms for the pool were better than some apartments I have stayed in.
Has 6 bedrooms so excellent for large parties. The only negative is that the entrance to 4 bedrooms are outside the house due to the layout so if you have small kids in a group, bear that in mind. No problems if all couples or older kids though. 4km to town centre that has taxis if needed.

We spent two weeks at CASA DE ALEM near Paredes de Coura. We wish to thank the owners for their care. The house is, not only perfectly located to visit most villages of north Portugal, but the sourroundings of the house are great. For lovers of walking and cycling the house is in the miiddle of wonderful tracks and paths climbing to hills with astonishing views. In less than 45 minutes you can reach beautiful beaches or visit places like Viana do Castelo, Valença do Minho, Ponte da Barca, Ponte de Lima. Porto is just one hour motorway.
The house has lovely views and is the place to relax.
Congratulations!!

Thank you for organising our stay at Quinta da Nabais in July 2010. The Villa is a very attractive, private and extremely spacious, traditional Portuguese house which accommodated our group of 9 easily and also very comfortably. The Villa is short of nothing in equipment and the garden and pool lovely. We particularly liked the extra barbeque and fully equipped kitchen next to the pool. Our en-suite bedroom was lovely too with a terrific view across the valley. There were a number of good restaurants nearby which we sampled and Ponte de Lima is a very charming and also historic village from where the whole of Northern Portugal and Galicia can be reached on day trips with a hire car.

We enjoyed a wonderful week at Casa Oliveiras de Santa Comba in July 2010, house is beautifully kept, superb bedrooms and bathrooms, lovely lounge and pool area, plus cottage in garden.
The house is close to Ponte de Lima which is a stunning old town with good amenities for shopping, eating a sight seeing.
We would certainly return for another holiday with all the family.

At Casa Sao Cristovao for the month of June 2010. On a lovely quinta that raises grapes and olives. The quinta has been in the same family since 1640. The Owner makes his own wine on the premises and distributes to family and friends. The Barbosa family is most hospitable
and helpful and speak excellent English. The Casa has three apartments; a three bedroom guest house and a 5 bedroom guesthouse, all with ensuite baths. All are clean and comfortable. Quinta is near Viana do Castelo which is a lovely coastal town and convenient to other historic towns in the North……Ponte de Lima; Santiago, Spain; Braga. Restaurants are driving distance but you will need a car to visit all the historic places near by.

We are just back from a fabulous holiday with family and friends in Northern Portugal. We stayed in Quinta de Nabais and were personally greeted by Snr Edgar Flores and his lovely wife. They made us so welcome to their beautiful, charming 16th century villa. Neither kids nor adults ever wanted to leave. A gorgeous pool with diving board and slide, a flood light tennis court, table tennis, snooker, outdoor kitchen with bbq and wonderful gardens with all sorts of shaded hiding spots. And of course the hammock. We loved it and couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
If you fancy exploring, Pont de Lima, Viana do Castelo, Barcelos, Braga and Valenca are all worth a look.
Many thanks to Sue and Clara in the Portugalvilla office for looking after us so well.
We will definitely go back to this delightful, unspoilt region of Northern Portugal

We and our family want to tell you how much we enjoyed being at Quinta de Nabais. There were so many things to do for the younger part of the family. Our grandchildren wanted to stay another “million weeks”.
The garden, with all the flowers, was really a delight for our eyes. We didn’t expect the weather to be as fine as it was. We got four days of sunlight and one of the days the temperature was as high as 30 degrees C.
Fantastic!
We’ve told a lot of friends about our stay at your beautiful and well-equipped house.
Luckily enough we have taken a lot of photos, so we can enjoy Quinta de Nabais over and over again.

We have booked Quinta de Nabais in June. Some of the party have been to this quinta before.
We are all looking forward to the visit to the house and the beautiful north of Portugal.

I stayed at Casa Santa Margarida in August and would like to say how much my family and I enjoyed our visit. The area is beautiful and the hosts, Mr and Mrs Barbosa, could not have been kinder or more helpful.

Thank you for letting us share and experience your home, Casa da Bouca Velha, it is one not easily forgotten. Swimming in yours affinity pool with its breathtaking views was wonderful, especially enjoyed by my daughter, every minute of the day.
We can honestly say that this is one of the most relaxing holidays we have ever taken. As always, it is sad it has come to an end.
The restaurants were terrific.

I was looking for a holiday that I would always remember as something special, and was amazed by the fantastic accommodation at Casa do Olival, it is not a villa, it is a beautifully cared for house, that is presented in such immaculate fashion. It was hard to leave the house and its surroundings to travel to the other towns near by. However, the local area did not let us down, and the Minho area proved to be what you would envision “the real” Portugal to be like. Still largely unspoilt by foreign tourism, there are some truly wonderful places to visit. If you are thinking of going to Portugal, do contact the team at Manor Houses of Portugal Promotions before you do anything else, as I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We spent a lovely week in your beautiful house. The atmosphere is very intimate and relaxing. We really felt ‘at home’! We enjoyed the garden, the view and your music collection. Every day we took a swim in the pool, no matter what weather. Of course we also went to the beach, Afife was our favourite! We made several trips to the surrounding villages – this is a beautiful part of Portugal. Thanks for your hospitality! We and our grandparents had a wonderful time.
