It is situated in the Coura valley, where only the sound of the chapel bell occasionally breaks the quietness of the surrounding countryside.

Due to its hilltop location, the house benefits from wonderful panoramic views over the valley.

On the ground floor, there are 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom with a shared bathroom and a separate toilet.

The lounge, dining room and kitchen are located in the original part of the house.

The pleasant lounge has a fireplace surrounded by sofas, Cable TV, a DVD player and a games table.

The dining room has a table which seats 12 people and a salamandra. Large French windows lead out to a terrace from where guests can admire the splendid views over the Coura valley, while dining al fresco.

The traditional stylish kitchen is fully equipped with a cooker with 4 hobs, a small fridge, a freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is an extra chest-type freezer in the laundry, very near the kitchen. There is also a salamandra. It features a large window with a view to the patio decorated with flower pots.

The laundry facilities include a washing machine and spin dryer.

A few stairs lead up to the first floor where there is a twin bedroom and a double bedroom which has views to the pool. Both rooms share a bathroom. The third bedroom features a double bed and has a private shower room.

The new wing of the house has central heating.

A large separate garden has several trees which provide delightful shadow in the long hot summers.

There is a swing for children.

The garden features many plants and flowers for which the owner is very proud.

About 20 kilometers away is the walled, border town of Valenca which offers a wide selection of shops and restaurants within its fortifications. There is a weekly market held on the road leading to the old bridge.

About 40 kilometres away is the historic sailing city of Viana do Castelo. Ponte de Lima, approximately 25 kilometers by motorway, has an excellent golf course and a very good restaurant.

Thanks to the new motorway system you may also care to visit Vigo, Baiona and Santiago de Compostela in Spain and the Portuguese cities of Braga, Guimaraes and Porto.  Or, the country's only National Park, Peneda-Geres.

The recently expanded airport at Porto is within easy reach by car. Low fares to this airport are now offered by a number of airlines. Alternatives, are the Spanish airports of Vigo and Santiago de Compostela which are also reached by motorway.
