Quinta do Ladario Overview

Located in a small village called Varzea de Ovelha, this property is situated between Amarante and Marco de Canaveses, near the River Douro Valley.
This is one of the most famous areas in Northern Portugal due to its natural beauty and to the production of the Port wine.
There are some vineyards growing on the farm as the owner dedicates some time to the production of the Vinho Verde, typical of this region.
This mountainous area is very quiet and unspoilt. From the Quinta, guests can enjoy from magnificent views over the green fertile valleys and the River Ovelha, a tributary of the Tamega River.

Accommodation

Accommodation is on the main house and comprises 3 bedrooms, two with private bathroom.
The house is well furnished having all the amenities of modern accommodation.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a four ring cooker, portable grill, microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher. Next to the kitchen there is a small compartment for laundry with a washing machine.
The living room has a fireplace, TV, VCR, games table and a pool table. There are even a few cartoon tapes to keep children entertained.

The swimming pool measures 12 by 6 metres and is surrounded by a large lawned area.

Location

About 25 kms away from the house guests can visit the port wine lodges or take a cruise on the Douro.
For golfers the nearest golf course is located in Amarante, just a few kms north.
The Douro valley is internationally known for being the production area of the famous port wine.
The terracing of the vineyards along the Douro valley is an impressive sight and has recently been awarded UNESCO World Heritage classification.
