Quinta do Casal Maior is situated on the outskirts of the village of Lanheses in the Minho region of Northern Portugal. Known as the Costa Verde, this is a rich and fertile land of forests and mountains with green terraces of vineyards and maize stretching down to the golden beaches of the Atlantic Ocean.

It is an area steeped in tradition where mass tourism is unheard of, and life in the countryside has changed little over the years.

For golfers, there is an excellent golf course at Ponte de Lima approximatley 18 kilometeres away.

On the ground floor there is a through lounge/dining room with comfortable sofas, easy chairs around an open fireplace and a television with cable channels. There is also a dining table seating ten people.

Doors open directly out onto the main entrance, the patio and the swimming pool.

Also, on the ground floor there is a single bedroom with ensuite shower room and a double bedroom with doors onto the patio. There is also an adjacent shower room.

The large kitchen has a tiled floor and is fully equipped with full sized gas hob and oven, dishwasher, large fridge and microwave. There is a separate laundry room with washing machine and ironing facilities.

From the lounge an open staircase leads to the first floor. On this floor there is a master suite with twin beds and a small sitting room with a sofa-bed suitable for one adult or two children. The bedroom has views over the swimming pool and french windows which open onto a covered veranda. There is a shower room has high pressure multi-directional jets.

There are two further twin bedrooms, both ensuite, one with shower and one with bath, and a double bedroom with ensuite shower. These rooms overlook the garden. One of the twin bedrooms has direct access onto the veranda.

In a separate building there is a bedroom with ensuite bathroom which can be included at extra charge (a). This room can take an extra bed to accommodate 3 persons.

The property benefits from full central heating making it suitable for a holiday any time of the year.

Outside there is a private swimming pool 12m x 6m, with a depth of 1.2m to 2.8m.

The paved area around the pool has sun loungers and tables and chairs. There is a patio, barbecue and beautiful mature gardens with lighting and granite seating for relaxing after the heat of the day.

For dining out, Viana has plenty of restaurants to choose from. Alternatively you may to visit nearby Ponte de Lima with its Roman bridge, and sample the excellent Vinho Verde wine produced in the local co-operative.

The only National Park in Portugal, Peneda Geres, is half an hour away. Bordering Spain, this mountain wilderness is ideal walking country. This remote unexplored area with breathtaking views is a true paradise.

The distance to the nearest beach is approximately 14 kilometres. Restaurants and supermarket about 800 metres away.
