Well located, the house is approximately 25 minutes from the long, sandy Atlantic beaches.

The house, which is built of granite, has been extensively renovated and is situated on three sides of a courtyard. The bedroom wing is of modern design and blends well with the age of the property.

The old part of the house has a stone showing the original date of construction to be 1618.

The master double bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and a door opening onto a covered veranda.

The remaining 3 bedrooms, in the main house, each have twin beds and ensuite bathrooms and open onto a small terrace with steps leading down to the pool and garden.

The first floor dining/living room is very comfortably furnished and has a fireplace, sofas, televison and dining table. Doors lead out to a covered terrace and veranda overlooking the patio.

There is also a small, separate sitting area with French windows opening onto the pool area. Steps lead up to the bedroom wing.

The fully fitted modern kitchen has a cooker and oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher.

The large dining room, on the ground floor, has doors leading to the lawn, patio and pool area.

There is a downstairs cloakroom (toilet).

The Cottage has one double and one twin bedroom both with ensuite bathroom.

There is a games room with a half size snooker table.

The swimming pool is 12 metres by 6 metres and the depth is between 1.30 to 2.70 metres.  There is an external pool side shower.

About 25 kilometers away is the walled, border town of Valenca which offers a wide selection of shops and restaurants within its fortifications. There is a weekly market held on the road leading to the old bridge.

About 40 kilometres away is the historic sailing city of Viana do Castelo. Ponte de Lima, about 25 kilometers away by motorway, has an excellent golf course and a very good restaurant.

Thanks to the new motorway system you may also care to visit Vigo, Baiona and Santiago de Compostela in Spain and the Portuguese cities of Braga, Guimaraes and Porto.  Or, the country's only National Park, Peneda-Geres.

The recently expanded airport at Porto is within easy reach by car. Low fares to this airport are now offered by a number of airlines. Alternatives, are the Spanish airports of Vigo and Santiago de Compostela which are also reached by motorway.
